Project Estimator

  • We're looking for someone with 5-10 years of experience as an Estimator with strong commercial construction knowledge. This position will oversee project acquisition. The Project Estimator will communicate with existing as well as new clients to formulate accurate proposals for work. He will perform research and subcontractor/supplier quotes as required for each project. This includes in-person site visits within our working area (150mi radius centered on Joplin), as well as web-based commercial bidding opportunities. When jobs are awarded, this role will finalize project specifications – this includes material decisions as well as submittal packages for GC’s. Once project details are finalized, the project will be handed over to the Operations Manager for execution. The Project Estimator will be required to maintain an accurate understanding of future schedule and awarded projects, avoiding overbooked situations for the company.

    • Analyze blueprints and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects

    • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and equipment

    • Communicate with clients and project stakeholders to clarify requirements and present estimation findings

    • Generate proposals and follow-up to determine status

    • Review completed projects to gain higher accuracy across various project types and conditions

    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment

    • Strong problem-solving skills to address estimation challenges and identify cost-saving opportunities

plasterer

  • We're looking for someone with 3-5 years of experience as a Plasterer. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in various plastering techniques and surface preparation, along with standard construction operations and mechanics. This role requires excellent attention to detail to ensure adequate site preparation, and even finishes on all surfaces. Physical stamina is essential as the job involves standing for extended periods and handling materials. Scaffold erection and dismantling is a small aspect of the job, with a key focus on safety.

    • Apply plaster and stucco to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces to create smooth or textured finishes according to project specifications

    • Prepare surfaces for full EIFS systems - installation of foam boards, base coats, finish coats, flashings, etc

    • Caulking to a clean and neat line

    • Erecting and dismantling scaffold

    • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications

    • Knowledge of safety protocols and proper handling of construction materials

    • Ability to work at heights, either scaffolding, roof, or on lifts with harnesses

    • Ability to work in constant exposure to outside elements

    • Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment

    • Ability to squat, climb, and work in awkward positions/confined spaces

    • Ability to lift, push, pull heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs. or more

    • Physical dexterity, stamina, and excellent hand-eye coordination with ability to: grasp, assemble, and lift objects, stand, sit, and walk for extended periods over uneven surfaces, squat, bend, climb ladders onto equipment or other objects
